Anno 117: Pax Romana announced for release in 2025
Ubisoft is taking the city-building franchise all the way back to ancient Rome
Ubisoft has announced Anno 117: Pax Romana, which will be released in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The newest entry in its long-running strategy series sees players step into the shoes of a Governor in ancient Rome.
A live action teaser trailer for the game, which is viewable above, premiered during the Ubisoft Forward showcase on Monday.
“As a governor, you will build up the empire and direct its fate, choosing whether to forge its destiny through dominance or economic growth,” according to Ubisoft.
“Aiming to be the biggest, most detailed Roman simulation to date, Anno 117: Pax Romana follows the Anno franchise’s traditional emphasis on construction, not destruction.
“As governor, you’ll be able to build up a province in Latium or the Celtic land of Albion as you see fit, managing everything from aqueducts to naumachia naval battles in your coliseum, and whether you spread Roman culture or adopt Celtic traditions will be up to you.”
Ubisoft Forward was also used to premiere 10 minutes of Star Wars Outlaws footage and 13 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay.
Elsewhere, Ubisoft announced plans to release story DLC for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in September, and revealed a 2026 release window for its long-in-development Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake.
The first story DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will launch next month, as will the first season of multiplayer shooter XDefiant.
