Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct confirmed for Thursday
25-minute presentation will offer “in-depth look” at Switch exclusive
Nintendo will live stream an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct on Thursday, February 20, it’s announced.
The live stream will last for around 25 minutes and feature an “in-depth look” at the Switch exclusive. The Direct will start at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m ET/ 2pm BST.
There’s still no word from the platform holder on the next full Nintendo Direct broadcast, which has been highly anticipated since there hasn’t been a core Nintendo Direct presentation for more than five months.
Switch’s New Horizons will release on March 20 and is one of the only Nintendo titles so far confirmed for 2020, along with a Xenoblade remaster.
Bayonetta 3, Metroid Prime 4 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 do not yet have release dates.
It’s been over 160 days since Nintendo’s last major Direct in September 2019: the longest period between full Nintendo Direct presentations since the Nintendo Switch launched in 2017.
Nintendo recently announced a special Animal Crossing themed Nintendo Switch for release in North America, Europe and Japan.
The console features unique Joy-Con controllers, a custom design on the back, and a special Nintendo Switch dock. It will release for $299.99 / £319.99.
An Animal Crossing: New Horizons Aloha Edition Carrying Case & Screen Protector will also be available for purchase on March 13.
