An Atlus survey is asking if it should bring Persona to Xbox
The mainline RPG series has never appeared on Microsoft’s consoles
A new survey from Atlus is asking players if they’d like to play the Persona franchise on Xbox platforms.
As spotted by Window’s Central, Atlus, the publisher behind Shin Megami Tensei and Persona, has sent out its yearly survey seeking feedback from players on its various franchises.
Question 38 of the lengthy survey asks, “If a sequel (numbered entry) in the following game series was to be released, what platform would you want to play it on?”
In the answer section under Persona, one of the options is, “I would want to play on Xbox”.
It’s worth noting that other options in the answer section include “I would want to play Nintendo Switch/ Nintendo Switch Lite” and ” I would want to play on smartphone (free-to-play)”, which suggests that the survey is very hypothetical.
The Persona series has only appeared on Xbox twice, with fighting games Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax released in 2012 and 2014 respectively. The mainline RPG series has never appeared on any Xbox platform.
Atlus is currently in the middle of several Persona announcements to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise, the last of which will be revealed in late 2022.
The latest entry in the Persona series, Persona 5 Strikers, which is a Musou-style spin-off of Persona 5, was released for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC in 2021.
The last RPG entry in the series, Persona 5 Royal, was released in 2019 in Japan and in 2020 in the rest of the world. Upon release, the game received incredibly positive reviews, earning a 95 on the reviews aggregator Metacritic.
