Aloy from Horizon will fight alongside Lara Croft in Fortnite
PlayStation versions of the game are also getting an exclusive tournament
Aloy from PlayStation‘s Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to Fortnite this week, Epic Games has announced.
The Aloy outfit will be available for purchase in the game’s Item Shop from April 15, along with a number of new Aloy-themed items including the Glinthawk Glider, the Aloy’s Spear Pickaxe and the Heart-rizon Emote.
On PS5, anyone who owns the Aloy outfit and plays Fortnite will also unlock the Ice Hunter Aloy Style, based on the Banuk Ice Hunter outfit from Horizon Zero Dawn.
There will also be a new Limited Time Mode called Team Up! Aloy & Lara, in which pairs of players are outfitted as Aloy and Lara Croft and will be armed with the bow and dual pistols respectively.
To celebrate the news, a special Aloy Cup will be taking place on PS4 and PS5 on April 14. The best teams to win this Duos tournament in each region will unlock the Horizon Zero Dawn bundle before it enters the shop.
Epic launched Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6, titled Primal, in mid-March. It introduced animals to the island, and subsequent updates added dinosaurs to the mix. New character skins revealed at the time included Lara Croft, Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr and Teen Titans character Raven.
In late March an update for the Switch version of Fortnite boosted resolution and performance.
By upgrading the renderer on Switch to better utilise the console’s GPU, the update provides improved visuals, a more consistent framerate and even reduces the game’s file size.
“The update provides significantly improved resolution both in handheld and docked modes, resulting in images that are less blurry, without loss of performance,” Epic said at the time.
“The update also provides a more consistent framerate, with fewer hitches, resulting in a smoother experience overall.”
Horizon: Forbidden West is still officially planned for release at the end of this year, according to new PlayStation adverts being served to social media users in February.
