Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West is coming to Genshin Impact

Aloy from the Horizon games will be added to Genshin Impact as a playable character later this year.

The protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West will be a 5-star character, putting her in the roster’s upper tier.

She will be available for free for all players at Adventure Rank 20 or above, with PlayStation owners getting the opportunity to get her first.

Not much information has been shared about how Aloy will play in the game, with the official Genshin Impact site simply giving her backstory at this point.

Aloy’s release will be split over two waves. The first will begin when the Version 2.1 update arrives in September and will end when Version 2.2 maintenance begins on October 13.

During this time, any players at Adventure Rank 20 or above who log into the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will receive Aloy through their in-game mail.

The second wave starts after the Version 2.2 update arrives and will end when Version 2.3 maintenance begins on November 24.

During the second wave, Aloy will be available through in-game mail for players on all other formats (as well as PS4 and PS5 players who haven’t claimed her yet).

Guerrilla announced Horizon: Forbidden West for PS5 in June 2020 before confirming a PS4 version last September.

The studio revealed almost 14 minutes of Horizon Forbidden West gameplay in May but there was no news about the game’s release date, leading to some speculation that it might not make its planned 2021 launch.

“We don’t have an exact release date just yet, but development is on track and we will have an update for you very soon”, Guerrilla tweeted following the gameplay presentation.
