Alan Wake 2 review – when do reviews go live?
Remedy's next major release is Alan Wake 2, out on October 27

Alan Wake 2 reviews scores will go live on Thursday, October 26/

As posted to Twitter by Remedy communications director Thomas Puha, reviews for the game will be posted on October 26 at  6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST/.

At this time you can also expect a review on VGC.

We’ll also discuss the game at length on the VGC podcast.

Alan Wake 2’s creative director has teased Remedy’s post-launch plans for the title, telling the audience at EGX this weekend that the DLC will be “pretty significant”.

“We do have free DLC drops coming and they are pretty significant,” he said during a stage interview. “I’m expecting us to be going more into detail pretty soon after the game is out, but all of that will be free for everyone who gets the game.”

Previously scheduled to launch on October 17, Alan Wake 2 will now be released on October 27 for PS5Xbox Series X/S and PC via the Epic Games Store.

Remedy decided to hold the game back for 10 days so it wouldn’t clash with other big October releases such as Super Mario Bros Wonder and Spider-Man 2.

VGC recently played a significant portion of the sequel, which was covered in our extensive Alan Wake 2 preview.

“If the original Alan Wake was inspired by Twin Peaks, then Alan Wake 2’s version of the Pacific Northwest definitely leans towards True Detective,” it reads.

“Powered by Remedy’s Northlight Engine, Alan Wake 2 is a seriously stunning game, with scenes that often overshadow even Capcom’s equally-gorgeous alpine cultist romp Resident Evil 4 remake.”
