After a year of silence, Bandai Namco has finally revealed new Tales of Arise footage
RPG aims to revamp the long-running series
Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tales of Arise, the next instalment in its long-running RPG series which was announced nearly two years ago.
The trailer offers the first look at Arise since its announcement in June 2019 and a later stage preview at Tokyo Game Show 2019, and promises “further news in Spring 2021”.
“Spring is just around the corner, and we’ve been working hard to make it unforgettable! Catch the first new glimpse from Tales of Arise.”
Set for release on last-gen consoles and PC, Tales of Arise follows two heroes from the opposing worlds of Dahna and Rena.
According to producer Yusuke Tomizawa, the development began in 2018 and the objective for Arise is to reevaluate and evolve the Tales franchise, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
“The goal for Tales of Arise is to provide a familiar but innovative gameplay experience to fans of the series, while pushing the technical envelope to deliver a high level of graphical quality to impress both long-time players and those who have never played a Tales Of game,” Tomizawa said last year.
The RPG was originally scheduled for a 2020 release, but was delayed due to disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic, according to its developer.
Another Bandai Namco title not seen since 2019, From Software’s Elden Ring, appeared in a leaked internal trailer this week.
