Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will cost $70
The publisher says this year’s series entry is a “premium release” and not an expansion
Activision has confirmed the first pricing details for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Ahead of the plans to unveil the game later this week, a spokesperson for the publisher told Charlie Intel that this year’s series entry will be a full price release.
“As stated in numerous Activision Blizzard quarterly conference calls, Modern Warfare III is a premium release,” they said. “It will be price[d] accordingly at $70 USD.”

Following a series of leaks, Activision officially announced Modern Warfare 3 last week. It will be released on November 10, 2023, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
In February, Bloomberg claimed Activision had originally planned to release a major expansion for 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 this year, but that the DLC had morphed into a full game.
Citing people familiar with the project, it claimed Activision’s goal for the new Call of Duty was to make a game that feels “like a standalone, full-price release and also an extension of Modern Warfare II”.
Activision recently detailed how players will be able to carry over most of their collected Modern Warfare 2 content to Modern Warfare 3.
It plans to reveal the game on August 17 during a Call of Duty: Warzone event starting at 10.30am PT / 1.30pm ET / 6.30pm BST / 7.30 CEST.
