A storm is coming in the latest Ghost of Tsushima trailer
PlayStation 4 exclusive releases in mid-July
Sony has released a new Ghost of Tsushima trailer titled ‘A Storm is Coming’.
Revealed in October 2017, Sucker Punch Productions’ open-world adventure game is set during the Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274.
Players take on the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior whose adventure draws on Japanese history and the traditions of samurai cinema to craft what the developer calls “a gorgeous tale of revenge, empowerment, and hope”.
Here’s the official blurb that accompanies the new trailer: “In the wake of a crushing defeat at the hands of ruthless Mongol invaders, noble samurai Jin Sakai must sacrifice everything to protect what’s left of his home and people.
“As he embarks on an epic adventure for the freedom of Tsushima, he must set aside samurai traditions, embrace unconventional methods, and forge a new path—the path of the Ghost.”
Sony recently delayed the Ghost of Tsushima release date from June 26 to July 17.
The game will be available in several editions, including a collector’s version featuring a replica mask with an individually numbered display stand.
Pre-ordering any edition will get you a Jin avatar, a digital mini soundtrack and a PS4 dynamic theme.
An extended Ghost of Tsushima gameplay video released in May showcased the title’s exploration and combat features.
