A Riders Republic beta test is taking place this month
Players can sample Ubisoft’s extreme sports game from August 23-25
Ubisoft has confirmed plans to stage a Riders Republic beta later this month.
The test will be held from August 23-25 and players interested in participating can register here.
Riders Republic is an extreme sports game in development at Ubisoft Annecy, the studio behind 2016’s Steep.
It will let players roam a large open world featuring American national parks Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley and Mammoth Mountain, and compete in activities including biking, skiing, snowboarding and wingsuit flying.
Riders Republic will be released for consoles, Stadia, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store. PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for free.
The game was originally scheduled for release in February 2021, before being delayed to September and more recently to October 28, when Ubisoft also delayed Rainbow Six Extraction to January 2022.
“The goal with the decision to delay both of these games is to give more opportunities for players to test, play firsthand and give feedback to ensure we are bringing the best experiences to market and allow them to reach their full potential,” the company said in July.
“We believe the new release schedules will allow us to achieve that goal. This is the right decision for our players and for the long-term performance of our games.”
