An accessories maker is showcasing what it claims to be an accurate replica of Nintendo’s unannounced Switch 2 console at CES in Las Vegas.

Genki is showcasing the device behind closed doors at the Las Vegas Convention Center this week, where invited guests can hold the replica in their hands and get a feel for what it claims ‘Switch 2’ will be like to hold.

The replica model – pictured on this page – is being used to demonstrate the accessories Genki has planned for the Nintendo Switch successor, including controllers and a docking station, it said.

German publication Netzwelt was able to try the Switch 2 replica, which Genki claims has the “exact dimensions” of Nintendo’s unannounced console.

According to the publication, Switch 2 feels significantly larger to hold, with Joy-Cons that are moved from the side rather than pushed in upwards (reportedly, this is due to plans for magnetic attachment).

In addition, it says the right Joy-Con controller showcased by Genki features an additional, unlabelled button compared to its predecessor.

Nintendo has yet to officially reveal its Switch successor, but the company has confirmed plans to do so during its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025.

However, that hasn’t stopped a flood of alleged leaks appearing on the internet over the past weeks and months.

Several case manufacturers, who are provided details of forthcoming tech before it is announced in order to prepare products, have recently published what they claim to be cases for Nintendo’s next console, thus revealing some details about the shape of the system.

The most significant alleged leaks started with images claiming to show Nintendo’s Switch successor in September, showing a design that’s not too dissimilar from the company’s current-gen console.

Then, last week, alleged images of Switch 2’s internal hardware components appeared on Reddit. If accurate, the images appear to confirm previous hardware spec rumors suggesting that the new console will again be powered by Nvidia hardware.

Supposed images of Switch 2’s Joy-Cons have also made their way online. If authentic, they corroborate previous claims that the Switch 2 Joy-Cons will be slightly larger, and feature a magnetic connection. It’s also speculated they could feature mouse-like support.

Then, on Tuesday, an image of what is reportedly the Nintendo Switch 2 dock was published. According to the image, Switch 2 will ship with a larger 60W charger, meaning the charger for the original Nintendo Switch will not be powerful enough to use with the system while docked.
