A new Silent Hill: Ascension trailer has been released
The interactive streaming series is due out later this year
A new trailer has been released for the upcoming “interactive streaming series” Silent Hill: Ascension.
The trailer gives more detail on Ascension’s visual style, and sheds some light on its story.
Rather than a conventional game, Ascension is a live-streaming interactive series which, according to studio Genvid Entertainment, uses a “real time interactive system that enables millions of people to help characters survive and change those characters’ fates”.
The trailer can be viewed below:
According to a new summary provided alongside the trailer, Silent Hill: Ascension is “a Genvid Interactive Streaming Series that features multiple main characters around the world as they confront horrors unleashed in their communities”.
The series’ story will be “an exploration of intergenerational trauma”, which includes “an extensive ensemble of intricately developed new characters, monsters and locations in the Silent Hill universe”.
The series will start later in 2023 and will feature “daily can’t-miss live story moments where each day is different than the last based on audience actions”.
In a statement, Genvid Entertainment CEO Jacob Navok said: “Silent Hill: Ascension will captivate audiences with its immersive experience, spotlighting stunning visuals and live community-driven moments, all while exploring the psychological horror that has made the Silent Hill series so beloved by fans worldwide.”
Ascension is one of a number of Silent Hill projects currently in development.
The Medium developer Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, which is reportedly close to completion.
Other Silent Hill projects in development include Silent Hill Townfall (which is in development at Scottish studio NoCode and will be published by Annapurna Interactive) and Silent Hill F (a “completely new story set in 1960s Japan featuring a beautiful, yet horrifying world”).
