A new Sam & Max game is coming to VR platforms
New title teased during Opening Night Live
A new instalment of Sam & Max, the adventure series popularised by LucasArts in the 90s, is coming to VR platforms in 2021
The new game, ‘This Time it’s Virtual’, was announced during Gamescom: Opening Night Live on Thursday and is in development at Happy Giant, an experienced developer of AR titles.
Sam & Max debuted as a comic book series by Steve Purcel in 1987 and stars the titular duo solving crimes as The Freelance Police.
However, the franchise is best remembered for LucasArts’ 1993 graphic adventure game Sam & Max Hit the Road, which Purcel co-created after joining the developer in the late 80s.
An episodic game series by Telltale Games, Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space, was released between 2007 and 2008.
