A Radiant Silvergun game appears to have leaked

A Radiant Silvergun game has seemingly leaked ahead of a Tokyo Game Show announcement.

As spotted by Gematsu, a Radiant Silvergun logo has been uncovered on publisher Happinet’s official Tokyo Game Show 2022 site, seemingly confirming it will feature at this month’s event.

Developer Treasure announced earlier in the year that it was working on a “highly requested” game and its identity may now have been revealed.

If that’s the case, it’s unclear if this will be a new game as opposed to a re-release or remaster.

Radiant Silvergun is a vertical-scrolling shooter that was first released in Japanese arcades in 1998. It was later ported to Sega Saturn and more recently to Xbox 360.

The game was met with strong reviews upon release and has developed a devoted fan following.

Treasure, which has largely been quiet in recent years, tweeted in June: “On June 19, 2022, Treasure Co., Ltd. celebrated its 30th anniversary!

“This year, the 30th anniversary, we are working hard to announce the highly requested ‘that’ title. We look forward to your continued support of Treasure.”

Treasure’s last releases were a duo of 3DS games in the Gaist Crusher series. Prior to this, the company had been prolific during the PlayStation 2 era of console gaming, developing 12 titles between 2000 and 2006.
