A new King Kong game has been leaked by Amazon
Update: Skull Island: Rise of Kong is officially coming to PC and consoles this year
Amazon has seemingly leaked a new King Kong game ahead of its official announcement.
Titled Skull Island: Rise of Kong, the third-person action-adventure game is headed to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, according to product listings on Amazon’s Spanish website.
The listings, which were spotted by Gematsu, also carry what is presumably a placeholder release date of December 31, 2024.
Update
Skull Island: Rise of Kong has been announced for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam later this year.
“Embark on a 3rd person action adventure to avenge the death of your parents at the hands of the ultimate alpha predator: Gaw,” reads a Google translation of Amazon’s product description.
“Conquer waves of primal beasts and defeat your archenemy’s minions to become the rightful king of Skull Island.
“Cross the mysterious island and discover the history and secrets it hides as you come across swamps, waterfalls, jungle and caves full of skullites that give power to the flora and fauna of the island.”
According to Wikizilla, Gaw is a title that refers to the leader of the Deathrunners, a fictional species of dromaeosaurid dinosaurs native to Skull Island.
Skull Island Rise of Kong is set to be published by GameMill Entertainment. The game’s developer isn’t listed.
King Kong has featured in a number of video games, perhaps most notably 2005’s Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (pictured top).
The giant ape also appeared in last year’s Call of Duty Warzone Operation Monarch event, which saw King Kong and Godzilla unleashed on the battle royale game’s Caldera island.
