A new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla title update targets a PlayStation save file issue

Ubisoft has released a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla title update designed to resolve save file issues on PlayStation consoles.

The publisher said last week that it was investigating a problem stopping some PS4 and PS5 players from saving their progress.

The issue emerged following the launch of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second expansion, The Siege of Paris, on August 12.

“This update addresses the failed to save the game issue when navigating Francia,” Ubisoft said this week.

Monday’s title update weighs in at about 530MB for PS4 and 420MB for PS5.

While today’s update addresses save issues in Francia on PlayStation consoles, a number of Xbox Series X/S and PC players have reported encountering similar issues, and in other game locations too.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Season 3 launched in late July as part of title update 1.3.0.

Ubisoft recently updated Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s list of known issues (beware spoilers) with a number of problems related to The Siege of Paris expansion.

Some of these are currently being investigated, while others are expected to be fixed later this summer in the game’s 1.3.1 update.

A new River Raids map pack will also be included in an additional update this season, featuring destinations spread across the rivers of France and Ireland.

Ubisoft has said it expects to surprise players with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s second year of expansions.

An Assassin’s Creed Odyssey update scheduled for release on August 24 will add 60 FPS support to the game when played on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility.

A Watch Dogs Legion update also set for release on August 24 will feature an Assassin’s Creed crossover which introduces futuristic assassin Darcy as a new playable character.
