A Lords of the Fallen technical showcase trailer has been released
Character customisation, armour builds, and the game’s interconnected world shown off
CI Games has released a new trailer for Lords of the Fallen, the upcoming reboot of the dark fantasy action-RPG released in 2014.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game casts players as one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, who is on a mission to overthrow a demon God called Adyr.
The technical showcase trailer below features a journey to Skyrest Bridge, one of the game’s early locations.
Revealed at GDC on Wednesday as part of Epic’s State of Unreal keynote, it also shows off character customisation, armour builds, lighting and the game’s interconnected world.
“Players will have the ability to travel between two worlds: Axiom, the realm of the living and Umbral, the realm of the dead,” according to developer Hexworks, a CI Games studio founded in early 2020.
“The two worlds will allow players to effortlessly swap between them, even if one side is unmistakably more horrific than the other.”
Lords of the Fallen is set more than a thousand years after the events of the original game and its world is over five times as large, CI said when the title was announced last August.
Supporting “uninterrupted online co-op” for two players, the game is scheduled to release this year for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
