A Layers of Fear PC demo will be released next week
Cinematic intro and PC system requirements also published ahead of next month’s release
Bloober Team has announced plans to release a Layers of Fear PC demo next week.
It will be available on Steam from May 15 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST until May 22 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST, ahead of the game’s PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S release in June.
“This short demo will allow players to jump into the first few minutes of the game and experience the game’s opening cinematic video, which introduces the story of the Writer, the game’s final protagonist,” Bloober said.
It has also published the game’s cinematic intro, which is viewable above, as well as the expected minimum and recommended system requirements to run Layers of Fear on PC, which are viewable below.
Co-developed by Bloober Team and Anshar Studios, the game includes the original Layers of Fear, its Inheritance DLC and Layers of Fear 2 rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5.
“We are bringing back a franchise that is really special for us, in a new form that will give players a truly fresh gaming experience and that will shed new light on the overall story,” said Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno when the game was announced last year.
“Our plan was to recreate the games, but we didn’t want to make it a simple collection of two remastered games. We’ve worked out a new approach, something that is maybe not yet obvious.”
Bloober Team released an 11-minute Layers of Fear gameplay walkthrough in March.
The Polish studio is also currently working on a remake of Konami’s Silent Hill 2.
