A Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo is seemingly coming today
A video on the PlayStation Network seems to have been published early
A demo for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is seemingly due to be released today.
Following an announcement by Sony last week, a new State of Play presentation dedicated specifically to Final Fantasy 7 is set to air today.
However, as spotted by X user Wario64, it appears that a video has been appearing on the PlayStation Network, telling players a demo for the game is out now.
The video says “play the demo” and concludes with the message “demo available now”, even though at the time of writing there’s no demo available.
It appears, then, that the demo will be announced and subsequently released during the State of Play presentation later today.
The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth State of Play takes place at 3.30pm PT / 6.30pm ET / 11.30pm GMT and will focus solely on Square Enix‘s PS5 exclusive.
“Square Enix will be sharing new gameplay details, along with exciting news you won’t want to miss,” said Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Shawne Benson.
The second game in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy will be released for PS5 on February 29, 2024, on two discs, and will be exclusive to Sony’s console for a minimum of three months.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released for PS4 in April 2020. An upgraded version of the game, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, arrived on PS5 in June 2021 before hitting PC six months later.
Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura previously confirmed where the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy ends.
“Although there are some changes in the order of the locations, the locations depicted in this title extend up to The Forgotten Capital, where the greatest fate of Final Fantasy VII awaits you,” he told the PlayStation Blog.
