Techland teases plans to show off the long-awaited sequel
Techland has scheduled a Dying Light 2 showcase for May 27.
The event will take place at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST / 9pm CEST and be streamed on the company’s Twitch channel.
“Are you dying 2 know more?” Techland tweeted on Tuesday. “Because we sure are dying 2 tell you more about Dying Light 2!”
The follow-up to 2015’s open-world zombie survival title was originally scheduled for a spring 2020 release, but that launch window was delayed last January.
This March, the Dying Light 2 team addressed impatient fans by reading out some of their most abusive tweets and assuring them the game is planned for release this year.
“This is a huge and complex project and we needed time to make sure it will live up to our vision,” said Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka. “All of us here are putting our hearts into delivering a game that you will keep playing for months.
“We will be ready to start talking about Dying Light 2 very soon.”
Plans to release Dying Light: Platinum Edition seemingly leaked on Monday via a Microsoft Store listing for the game.
Billed as “the richest version” of the first series entry, Dying Light: Platinum Edition includes the base game, “all four major DLCs and seventeen skin bundles”.
The product listing, which has since been pulled, didn’t carry a price tag, but it did have a release date of May 27, suggesting Techland could make an official announcement and launch the game alongside its Dying light 2 event this Thursday.
