A Cyberpunk 2077 reveal is coming on June 11
CD Projekt will provide a new look at its RPG next month
A Cyberpunk 2077 reveal is planned for June 11.
CD Projekt confirmed plans to provide a new look at the game via its social media channels on Tuesday.
It’s unclear what’s in store, but it’s perhaps fair to predict it will be a significant gameplay reveal given the timing – it will air on what would have been the final day of E3 2020, which was cancelled in March amid concerns over the coronavirus.
UPDATE: This event will now take place on June 25.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: “Stuff will be shown!” CD Projekt Red global community lead Marcin Momot teased, while Geoff Keighley suggested the upcoming reveal is part of Summer Game Fest, a newly announced series of consumer-focused digital events taking place from May until August.
Following a switch to remote working, CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński said in April that the company remains on track to hit the Cyberpunk 2077 release date.
“Our goals haven’t changed; first and foremost, we intend to release Cyberpunk 2077 in September,” he said. “We feel motivated and have the necessary tools at our disposal to meet this goal”.
Kiciński also suggested that Cyberpunk 2077 DLC and story expansions will be announced before the game’s release. They’ll rival the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s post-launch content in scope, he added.
CD Projekt intends to release a “proper, full-blown next-gen version” of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox Series X and PS5, but it won’t be a launch game.
Electronic Arts will also host a digital showcase of its upcoming games on June 11. EA Play Live promises to deliver “world premieres, news and more”.
