A Battlefield 2042 x Dead Space crossover event is coming next week
The shooter is getting a time-limited mode called Outbreak
EA has announced a Battlefield 2042 and Dead Space crossover event.
The horror series will feature in the shooter via a new time-limited mode called Outbreak, which challenges players to hold off hordes of Necromorphs before extracting from the environment.
It will be playable from July 9-16 as part of Battlefield 2042 Season 7 – Turning Point, which launched in March and will be the game’s final season.

In April, a pair of reports claimed that the Dead Space franchise was on hold after sales of the most recent game failed to meet EA’s expectations.
Dead Space remake studio Motive was reportedly keen to make another series entry after the franchise returned to critical acclaim in January 2023, but its plans were said to have been scuppered by lacklustre sales.
The claims followed EA’s announcement that Motive had joined its wider Battlefield development team,
Motive is working alongside fellow EA studios DICE, Criterion and Ripple Effect to create “a Battlefield universe across connected multiplayer experiences and single-player”, the publisher said.
EA will delist three classic Battlefield games on Xbox 360 and PS3 this month.
Battlefield 3 (2011), Battlefield 4 (2013), Battlefield Hardline (2015) and all related DLC will no longer be purchasable digitally on these consoles from July 31.
