11 years after its original release, Warframe hits mobile this week
The iOS version releases on Tuesday, with Android to follow at a later date
Digital Extremes’ popular online action game Warframe is finally coming to mobile.
Almost 11 years since its original release, the game will hit iOS on February 20, with an Android launch planned for a later date.
The free-to-play sci-fi shooter has attracted over 70 million players across PC and consoles to date, according to Digital Extremes.
“More than 10 years of Warframe content is now literally at your fingertips in a faithful mobile format you need to experience to believe,” the studio said.
“With Cross Platform Play and Cross Platform Save fully implemented, you can link up with your Squadmates anytime, anywhere, and maintain your progress across the platform(s) of your choice.”
Players who log in during launch week will be able to claim a free reward in the form of a three-day double XP boost and an in-game cosmetic.

Digital Extremes is currently developing a new MMORPG called Soulframe. The free-to-play fantasy game will be “heavily influenced by themes of nature, restoration, and exploration”, according to the Tencent-owned studio.
