Commander Jiyan has earned his title. Beyond ordering the Midnight Rangers, he can also seemingly bend the wind to his will, making him an especially powerful five-star Aero character.
The best build for Jiyan
Here’s a quick and concise look at how to build Jiyan as a main DPS:
- Stat Priority: Crit%/DMG, Aero DMG, Crit%/DMG
- Weapon: Verdant Summit, Autmntrace
- Echo set: Sierra Gale (5-set)
- Echo: Feilian Beringal
- Pair with: Sanhua/Aalto/Mortefi, and Verina/Baizhu
Stat priority for Jiyan
Even with a focus on heavy attacks, Jiyan’s power still scales better with higher CRIT. Rate/DMG where possible. Once you’re shopping around for sub-stats on single-cost Echoes, that’s what to aim for. ATK% comes before Heavy Attack, too: not raw ATK.
Best weapons for Jiyan
Jiyan benefits best from CRIT Rate weapons like Verdant Summit and Autumntrace.
The former, a five-star weapon, edges out with higher stats and a stacking Heavy Attack boost after each Intro or Liberation is used.
The four-star option’s quickly stacking ATK boost with each Basic/Heavy attack can still offer great coverage given how much easier it is to obtain.
Best Sonata set for Jiyan
Main DPS
For most team compositions, a full set of the Sierra Gale echoes will suit Jiyan perfectly. Given he’s designed to stay on the field to deliver a potent burst, the massive Aero damage increase from the five-set bonus can’t be passed up.
Best Echo for Jiyan
Main DPS
You’ll want to tussle with the Feilian Beringal regardless of how you plan to play Jiyan. This four-cost Echo works wonderfully with his kit, increasing both Aero DMG and Heavy Attack DMG after landing a hit and its resulting follow-up attack.
Best team comps for Jiyan
As your primary damage dealer, Jiyan pairs wonderfully with sub-DPS characters capable of building up and delivering powerful Outro skills quickly as passing on their damage buffs.
Mortefi is the best option given he can bolster the Heavy Attacks at the core of Jiyan’s kit, but both Sanhua and Aalto can help ramp up his damage in other ways.
As, as you might have expected, Baizhi is the go-go Resonator for the Support role here unless you also happen to have access to Verina. They both work.
