The best Wuthering Waves Aalto builds
Aalto makes way for other high-damage characters with this launch build
Investing in the best Wuthering Waves Aalto builds will help you get the most out of his kit.
While incredibly situational, if you’re building a team around Aalto, you’ll reap the benefits of his buffs more reliably.
The best build for Aalto
Here’s a quick and concise look at how to build Aalto as a buffer for the rest of your Aero-focused damage team:
- Stat Priority: Crit%/DMG, Aero ATK, ATK
- Weapon: Cadenza / Static Mist
- Echo set: Moonlit Clouds (5-set)
- Echo: Heron
- Pair with: Jiyan/Baizhi pairing
Stat priority for Aalto
Even as a support, Aalto is typically paired with another, making him fill a sort of Sub-DPS Support role. Because of this, you’ll still want to build him with damage in mind. At least when it comes to stats.
Aim for the usual Crit% and Crit DMG on the high-cost items, then Aero and ATK elsewhere.
Best weapons for Aalto
As it stands, the best weapons for Aalto are either Cadenza if he’s used for a Sub-DPS or Support role for the Energy benefits, or Static Mist when used as a main DPS.
Best Sonata set for Aalto
Because of his stance as a support or buffer, Aalto doesn’t stand to benefit massively from the Sierra Gale Aero set bonus. It boosts attack and, despite how his kit reads, that’s not what he excels at.
Instead, it’s best to aim for the support-centric Moonlit Clouds 5-piece set bonus for Aalto.
The Energy Regeneration will help with team setup, and the 22.5% ATK boost from the 5-piece bonus will apply to the character switching in after Aalto’s Outro. Very handy.
Best Echo for Aalto
The Heron looks to be the better pick for Aalto’s Echo. Use it alongside a parry/counter to help build up Concerto energy and switch out to your main DPS, triggering the massive ATK boost of the Moonlit Clouds set in the process.
The best team comps for Aalto
Here’s who to pair Aalto with to get the most out of each build:
Sub-DPS / Buffer
- Jiyan
- Baizhi
When used as a Buffer for other Aero units like Jiyan, Aalto can struggle to stand out. His focus is buffing elemental damage, whereas Jiyan benefits the most from those who boost his heavy attacks (and thus his Ultimate skill) like Mortefi.
Sustained damage from consistent use of ultimate attacks is only really possible in longer fights, which can make Aalto a better pick in some situations. If you’re just grinding mob packs and elites rather than bosses, Aalto’s Aero boosts could have the edge, making him a better choice over Mortefi.
Paired with Baizhi, you should have the means to start a fight, give Baizhi’s outro boost to Aalto, then quickly run through Aalto’s kit to then take the whole buff stack to Jiyan for maximum damage.
Main DPS
- Verina
- Baizhi
If using Aalto as a main DPS, you’ll employ a similar tactic as with this Support/Buff build, simply swapping him as the sub-DPS to the Main DPS. Build up with Baizhi, swap to Verina, then let loose with a buffed Aalto instead.
Make proper use of his Mist and high agility to weave around enemy attacks and shoot through the clouds for bonus damage.
