Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is finally here, bringing with it a huge new world, a ton of new Pokemon, and plenty of new mysteries to uncover.

A classic mechanic that has been in the Pokemon games since they first released is the Master Ball. A special ball that catches anything it’s used on, regardless of the level. It’s a very useful tool if you’re hunting shiny Pokemon, or if you’re struggling with a legendary Pokemon.

Where to get the Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In order to get the Master Ball in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, firstly you’re going to have to complete the four main quest lines in the game.

This happens after the game’s credits, so if you’ve not seen those yet then you still have some objectives to complete in order to unlock the Master Ball.

Once you’ve done all of the main quests, you’ll get a call from Director Clavell asking you to meet him in his office. Once you go to meet him, he’ll give you the Master Ball.

Unfortunately, there’s not much to use it on at that point. You can find another box legendary, which, unlike your ride Pokemon, can be traded to other games. There are also 4 sub-legendary Pokemon that you could also use it on, but we recommend you use it on a shiny Pokemon.
