Wondering how to complete First Contact in Starfield?

First Contact is a mission in Starfield in which you find yourself playing the diplomat between two sides. On one side, you have colonists from Earth who are looking to settle on a colony, and on the other, you have the board of directors who want to make as much money as possible.

But how do you finish First Contact? What is the best choice for First Contact? Read on to find out.

Starfield First Contact: How to start First Contact

To Start First Contact in Starfield, head to the Porrima system. You’ll be hauled by an Unidentified Ship, but you won’t be able to make out what they’re trying to see, other than that they’re in distress. However, you can dock on the ship, so do this and that will begin the mission First Contact in earnest.

Speak to Diana Brackenbridge and she’ll send you on a mission to help the ship settle on Paradiso. Once you’ve arrived in Paradiso, Security Chief Sugiyama will send you to the hotel. Speak to the receptionist at the hotel, or head straight for the conference room, where you’ll initiate a conversation with Oliver.

Speaking to Oliver will give you three choices.

• Convince them to take the settlement deal
• Buy the Grav Drive and convince them to settle elsewhere
• Make them go away

Starfield First Contact: Convince them to take the settlement deal

In order to convince the group to settle elsewhere, you’ll need to acquire a huge amount of materials, like fiber, sealant, lithium, and iron.

This option will also make some of your companions angry with you as you’re essentially forcing these people into a live of servitude. Don’t do this one. It’s pointless.

Starfield First Contact: Buy the Grav Drive and convince them to settle elsewhere

In order to do this, you’ll need to find yourself a Grav Drive. You’ll be directed to HopeTech where you can purchase one for 40,000 credits. Then head back to the ship and follow the mission markers to get the ship ready for the installation of the new drive.

For this, you’ll be given an exclusive gun.

Starfield First Contact: Make them go away

If you choose to be an evil chap, you can make them go away, which also gives you the biggest reward. In order to do this, you have to go back onto the ship and find the engineer. If you kill him or acquire his key, you can go over to the ship’s reactor and set it to detonate.

Once you do this, go back to Oliver for some credits.
