Starfield Adoring Fan guide: How to recruit the Adoring Fan and how to dismiss

You’ll recruit the Adoring Fan by picking the Idolised trait during character creation. Following this, once you land on New Atlantis and you complete the first few missions, the Adoring Fan will come running up to you and offer to follow you around. This is how you recruit the Adoring Fan to your crew.

Starfield Adoring Fan guide: How to dismiss the Adoring Fan

If you’ve had just about enough of the Adoring Fan, you can dismiss him from your crew. Doing this is pretty easy, all you need to do is talk to him. First of all, assign the Adoring Fan to your crew, then you’ll find him on your ship.

Following this, you can talk to him and ask him about why he’s a fan of yours. You’re essentially going to remove him from your crew, or you can use Persuade to convince the Adoring Fan that you’ve done something terrible. If you pass this Persuasion, then the Adoring Fan will leave your crew forever.

You can in fact kill the Adoring Fan, if you kick him out using the “time for you to go” option. He then stops being an essential character and can be killed. It’s best to do this out on a mission in the middle of nowhere because doing it around your crew will lose you a huge amount of affinity. What happens on a random corner of space is none of their business.
