Building up a diverse team takes a lot of work, and without knowing how to unlock new characters in Squad Busters, you’ll struggle to get a full set.

How to unlock new characters in Squad Busters

Progress through the Squad Journey

Specific characters unlock as milestones along the Squad Journey path: like Colt at Green World (2) and Trader at Royal World (35)

Through chests

The characters able to drop from chests at the end of a match changes in each world—though there’s a very slim chance (around 1%) of this happening.

Keep playing matches and completing the Book to earn Portal Energy used to progress through the Squad Journey. The further you go, the more maps you’ll open up.

The Shop

You can periodically buy new characters via the in-game shop for premium currency. This can be a good way to quickly rank up units from their Baby forms or unlock characters you’re simply having no luck finding in post-match chests.
