Trip was created by Sonic series producer Takashi Iizuka and Sonic’s original character designer Naoto Ohshima.

Despite this, Sega has been keeping her appearance a tightly-guarded secret.

That’s why all the promotional videos for the game – and most of the actual game itself – show Trip wearing an odd spiked helmet.

But what does Trip look like when she’s unmasked? We reveal all below.

Sonic Superstars – Who is Trip?

Trip the Sungazer is a brand new character appears in Sonic Superstars for the first time.

A sungazer is a type of armoured lizard that protects itself with spines, and this has been incorporated into Trip’s character design.

In the game, Trip teams with Dr Eggman and Fang the Hunter to convert the animals of the Northstar Islands into Badniks.

Eventually, though, she realises that she’s on the wrong side, and teams up with Sonic and his friends to put a stop to Eggman and Fang.

Once the game has been completed, Trip is then unlocked as a playable character.
