How to get Secret Keys in Pets Go

Here’s what you need to know about getting a Secret Key in Pets Go. It’s part of the puzzle you’ll need to solve to start cracking open the Crystal Chest for some free loot.

Already lost? Officially known as Crystal Keys, Pets Go Secret Keys are rare collectibles used to bust open the Crystal Chest in Pets Go. Easy enough, right? How you go about getting them, however, is a little more complicated.

How to get Secret Keys in Pets Go

Secret Keys, or Crystal Keys as they’re officially referred to in-game, require two different sets of unlocks to become obtainable.

That’s because the Pets Go Secret Keys are always found in two parts: the lower key part, and the upper key part. Both require unlocking the Crystal Chest upgrade in the Breakables upgrade sub-menu to appear, which causes the chest to spawn by the Beach.

With the Crystal Chest upgrade unlocked, it’s time to start farming Crystal Keys and their parts. Head into the Crystal Chest upgrade sub-menu to get started.

How to get Lower Secret Key parts in Pets Go

To get Lower Keys, you need unlock the Breakable Keys upgrade. Then, to stand the best chance of finding them, the Digging for Keys upgrade is essential. From the sub-menu, head right to unlock these upgrades in order:

• Faster Cooldowns
• Breakable Keys
• Digging for Keys
• Metal Detector (optional)

With that, you’ll be able to find Lower Keys from breakables and digging spots, dramatically increasing your odds of finding them as you play.

How to get Upper Secret Key parts in Pets Go

To get the Upper Key Halves, you need to turn your attention to Fishing. Unlock the Treasure Keys upgrade on the same sub-menu, then More Treasure Keys if you want to boost your odds.

If you want more rewards for using the keys on the Crystal Chest, head left down the same sub-menu. Upgrades like Crystal Chest Coins (down) and Lucky Loot I (up) increase the rewards in the chests, making the Crystal Key even more worth the effort.

How do I use a Crystal Key in Pets Go?

Once you’ve found both parts of a Secret Key, you need to put them together.

To do that, just open the Pets menu, then click into your inventory. Click on a key half and you’ll be prompted to put the two together.

With a completed Crystal Key, head over to the Crystal Chest to claim your prize.

You can open the Crystal Chest as many times as you want provided you have a complete Crystal Key. A key breaks after a single use, so you’ll need to find two new key halves each time.

Is the Pets Go Crystal Chest worth it?

Each Secret Key gives you 10 rolls in the Crystal Chest. Opening the chest then performs those rolls against dozens of available items from the image above.

The chance of getting each item differs greatly—it’s not an even split across the board. For example, you’re far more likely to get low-tier potions than the Fishing Rod.

As for whether it’s worth it, it depends entirely on what you want from the game. If you’re breaking boxes, digging, and fishing anyway, you’ll naturally get Crystal Keys, making any reward from the Crystal Chest worth it.

If you’re more of a passive player farming Pets Go Diamonds, however, it’s probably not worth stopping whatever else you’re doing to farm Crystal Keys. Your odds of getting anything worthwhile is quite slim.
