Iron Valiant location: Where to catch Iron Valiant Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Iron Valiant is one of the more difficult Pokemon to find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Iron Valiant, which is a Paradox form of Gallade, is a Pokemon exclusive to Pokemon Violet. It’s also exclusive to the Great Crater, so you’ll have to be in the final area of the game in order to find it.

What is Iron Valiant?

Iron Valiant is a powerful Pokémon exclusive to the new Violet edition, available only once the final area of the game, Area Zero, has been unlocked.

This Fighting and Fairy type Pokemon has very high attack and speed stats, making Iron Valiant very effective against Dragon and other Fighting types, and virtually essential for certain Tera Raid Battles.

Iron Valiant is a ‘Paradox Pokémon’, aka “Enigmas of Paldea”, which are futuristic or ancient monsters which are unable to evolve or breed.

Iron Valiant location: Where to catch Iron Valiant in Pokemon Violet

• Head to the bottom of the Great Crater

Work your way down to the bottom of the Great Crater, just before you enter the large cave. It’s directly outside the last research station you need to visit.

• Go down the path on the left

Go down to the left of the cave opening, until you’ve gone under a hanging rock formation, and look for the tree in the image above. (Girafarig optional).

• Find the above rock formation.

Once you’re in the right location, Iron Valiant will begin to spawn. Thankfully, there are a few of them in here, so it’s not like you need to make sure that you nail the catch straight away.

How to get Iron Valiant in Pokemon Scarlet

Because Iron Valiant is a version exclusive to Pokemon Violet, owners of Scarlet will need to trade in order to catch it.

Alternatively, Scarlet players can join a game with owners of the opposite game version and attempt to catch it themselves.

Iron Valiant Shiny

Iron Valiant Shiny form can be found in the same area, however, like all shiny Pokemon, it’s very rare. There are some ways that you can increase the rate at which shiny Pokemon spawn, and thanks to Iron Valiant’s unique typing, there are ways you can manipulate the spawn rate of Iron Valiant’s shiny form.

Using either of these will greatly increase the number of Iron Valiant in the cave, however, there are some other Pokemon in the spawn table that use these typings, so some of those Pokemon may also spawn. However, considering how few Iron Valiant typically spawns, this is definitely a boost.

Iron Valiant: Best Iron Valiant movesets

Iron Valiant is one of the most popular new Paradox Pokemon added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It’s also one of the most powerful.

The current meta move set for Iron Valiant is centred around the move Swords Dance when combined with Iron Valiant’s Quark Drive ability. Quark Drive gives the Pokemon a 50% speed boost, meaning it almost always attacks first.

Iron Valiant: Best Tera Type
