Iron Leaves Tera Raid Guide: Counters, dates and more

Grimmsnarl

Dark/ Fairy

Moves:

  • Taunt
  • Light Screen
  • Foul Play
  • Draining Kiss

Grimmsnarl is a Pokemon that you’re going to look to essentially take and deal the brunt of the damage in the early part of the battle. Setting up Taunt to make the Iron Leaves focus on it, this is when you should be Belly Drumming with Azumaril and using your other set-up moves with your team for an attack on the second move. The dark and fairy typing makes Grimmsnarl essentially, even if it’s not the Pokemon on the team that’s likely to do the most damage out of the group.

Mimikyu

Ghost/ Fairy

Moves:

  • Swords Dance
  • Play Rough
  • Shadow Claw
  • Draining Kiss

This setup for Mimikyu is best for using the Pokemon as one of the fiercest ghost-type attackers, making it a nightmare for Iron Leaves’ psychic typing. Start off by using Swords Dance to get that attack boost, and then hit as many Play Rough as you can before the opposing Pokemon resets your abilities and stats.

Annihilape

Ghost/ Fighting

Moves:

  • Close Combat
  • Rage Fist
  • Bulk Up
  • Screech

Annihilape is a devastating attacker, with a huge attack stat, and one of the most effective abilities in Defiant. To start the Iron Leaves tera raid, hit a Bulk up to get your attack and defense stats going, and then use it again on your second turn.

Here you have the option of beginning to attack physically or using Screech to lower the defense on Iron Leaves. Although depending on the other Pokemon your teammates are using, you may not have to use this, and they will lower the stats for you.  Use a Ghost tera-type to withstand some of Iron Leaves heavier hits.
