How to upgrade Weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To upgrade your weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re going to have to first visit a major town or village. The first one you’re likely to come across is Vernworth, the capital of the first area.
When you arrive in town, head to the town square and look for an icon on the map that resembles a weapon. These smiths are in every major city. This is where you can upgrade your weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
What do I need to upgrade my weapons?
Each upgrade path will require different items, however, the base level of every upgrade path is simply paid with gold, meaning that even if you don’t have the appropriate crafting materials, you can always at least get one level of improvement.
There are three standard levels of upgrades, and then a final upgrade that requires special late-game material that we won’t spoil here. Don’t worry, the game will explain this late-game upgrade to you when the time comes.
Regional upgrades
Upgrades in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are different depending on where you get them. These upgrades are regional, so when you’re north of the checkpoint, such as Vernworth, you’ll get different upgrades than if you’re in Battahl.
This is noted in the UI by the logos that appear when an upgrade is purchased.
