Dragon’s Dogma 2 – How to learn Elvish
How to understand the Elves in Sacred Arbor, either via Pawn or Glyndwr
If you’ve reached the Elvish camp of Sacred Arbor, you’re probably wondering how to learn Elvish in Dragon’s Dogma 2 so that you can actually understand its inhabitants, who, when you first arrive, cannot communicate with you.
Located in the North of Vermund, Sacred Arbor is an Elvish enclave. It can be found at the top of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 full map, with several roads leading to it. Unlike other landmarks in the game, when you first arrive in Sacred Arbor you won’t be able to understand the Elves as their subtitles and text will be in Evlish.
Understanding them is pretty important, as Elves and Sacred Arbor hold many key side quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Thankfully, there’s a solution to understanding the Elves by learning their Elvish language.

Each Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can learn a specialization. You can see a Pawn’s specialization when they approach you, and you can also see it when you look at Pawns in the Pawn Rifts.
You’re looking for the Woodland Wordsmith Specialization. If you find a pawn with this specialization, speak to them when you’re in Sacred Arbor, and it will allow you to communicate with the Elves.
Another way to learn Elvish is by completing Glyndwr’s questline. He is an elf located in Vernmouth who will eventually give you the ‘Trail of Archery‘ quest and lead you to Sacred Arbor. Upon completion, he will act as your translator.
