In order to start Zelda’s Golden Horse, start talking to Penn inside the building and you’ll get a side quest titles Potential Princess Sightings which will suggest that you visit every single stable in Hyrule.

After this, go to the east and visit the Snowfield Stable. If you’ve unlocked the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower, you can reach this area easily, if not you’ll be able to see it on the map below and locate it from there.

Zelda’s Golden Horse Location

How to find Zelda’s golden horse in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Zelda’s Golden Horse can be found in North Tabantha Snowfield. However, you’re going to have to be careful if you’re heading up that way directly from the stable, as there’s a massive Gleeock standing in your way.

The Gleeock battles are something you should attempt until you’re far later in the game than you’re likely to be when you take on this quest, so we suggest either floating down from Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower, as you’ll be able to skip the Gleeock and head straight for Zelda’s Golden Horse.

Zelda’s Golden Horse is very tricky to catch, as it’s likely to get very spooked as you get closer to it. You have to sneak most of the way there, and then when you’re close enough, chase after it and jump on, otherwise you’ll never be able to mount it.

We found that we could soothe the horse with around 1 and a quarter bars of stamina. After that, simply take it back to the stable and complete the quest.

Zelda’s Golden Horse Stats

Zelda’s Golden Horse doesn’t have the best stats in the game, but it does have very strong stats for a horse that’s not too difficult to catch.

Zelda’s Golden Horse has 4 strengths and speed, 3 stamina, and 2 pull.

The horse also has a gentle temperament which means that the horse is very easy to control, which is why we recommend getting it in the early game as a solid companion to link throughout his journey.
