How to catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

Wondering how to get Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask?

Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a special regional form of Ursaluna that can only be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC.

This Pokemon, which can only be obtained once in the game, requires some extra work before you can encounter it. In order to start the quest to obtain Bloodmoon Ursaluna, you first need to talk to Perrin, who you can find to the left of the village, standing next to a Hisuian Growlithe.

Speaking to Perrin will start the quest to encounter the Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna: Register 150 Kitakami Pokemon

Firstly you’ll need to register 150 Pokemon in your Pokedex. This can be fairly easy, especially if you’ve already caught a lot of Pokemon in the main game of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. When we started the DLC with a complete Scarlet and Violet dex, this meant we had 99 of the Kitakami dex already registered.

For the rest, simply run around the opening areas using Quick Balls and you’ll quickly fill up your dex. The Pokemon you can catch in these opening areas are also usually higher level than what they evolve at, so for example, if you catch a Poochyena at level 55, you’ll only need to level it once to force an evolution to Mightyena, giving you another entry in the dex.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll have to have a battle with Perrin. She only has two Pokemon so it’s not the most difficult battle, especially if you’re in the Scarlet and Violet post-game and you’re bringing seriously powerful Pokemon with you to The Teal Mask.

Now it’s time to go after Bloodmoon Ursaluna. 

You’ll head to the Timeless Woods and begin a quest to take pictures of Pokemon in the woods. This is fairly easy, as there are only 10 Pokemon that you need to take a picture of.

After this, you’ll have a battle with Bloodmoon Ursaluna. 

You will get the chance to automatically catch it at the end of the battle, so feel free to use whatever ball you want, as they are all guaranteed to work, as the Bloodmoon Ursaluna works the same way as a raid or a titan fight in the main game.
