How many shrines in Tears of the Kingdom?
- There are 152 shrines in Zelda Breath of the Wild
Every single shrine in the game will also feature at least one chest. You don’t need to collect the chest in order to complete the shrine, and if you miss it you can go back to the shrine and get it later. In fact, if you look at a shrine in the game via the map it will tell you if you’ve picked up the chest or not.
For every shrine you complete, you’ll be given a Light of Blessing. By collecting four of these you can increase your health and stamina in the game.
How to find shrines in Tears of the Kingdom?
There are several ways to find shrines in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. The easiest way is to take to the sky and glide over a large area of the map, as shrines are very obvious from above, at least most of them are.
The large green glowing rings around the shrines can be seen from far away. However, it’s worth noting that there are plenty of shrines that are hidden and there are even shrines that you have to do a small sidequest to unlock, such as some of the shrines that require you to move a glowing green gem towards a specific area.
There are also shrines in the sky and in several cave systems. However, there are no shrines in the Depths whatsoever. You can mark them with your telescope easily, but you’re still going to have to find them.
One of the best ways to find shrines is by using the Shrine of Light sensor, which you can get from Robbie, who is one of the scientists that you can find in Lookout Landing. You’ll begin that quest in Hateno Village Research Lab, which is somewhere you should visit first. He’ll also be the way that you get the camera, so it’s worth pursuing his quest line early in the game so you can start working on shrines in earnest.
