How to get to the Northern Expedition island in Fisch
The Northern Expedition island can be sailed to quickly through Terrapin and the Forsaken Shores.
It takes around 20 seconds to get there from Moosewood with a 90 speed boat like the Sleigh. Head into the portal to teleport there. It’s separated by a loading screen unlike other islands.

- Lure Speed: 45%
- Luck: 35%

- We’re not sure how to get this one yet. Check back soon.
All new Totems in the Northern Expedition update

All Northern Expedition codes for Fisch
- NorthernExpedition |1,000C$ and some bait (NEW)

What to do on the Northern Expedition
First off, you’ll need the Fisch Glider to clear the content in the Northern Expedition. Grab that if you haven’t already. You’ll also want to bring around 50,000C$ to buy the Oxygen Tank and its upgrades as you climb.
Also note the two new mechanics: Oxygen and Body Temperature that appear as meters as you climb higher up the mountain. You can replenish the heat meter by standing near campfires. Interact with Refill Station tanks at the camps to replenish your oxygen.
Once you go through the portal into the Northern Expedition area, keep straight toward the island.
Moor at the camp and buy the Basic Oxygen Tank to the right of the first tent. Equip it. You’ll need it to survive as you climb the mountain beyond the second camp.
Take the left path and keep going until you start to turn around the mountain and keep hopping over the ice and climbing the ladders you come across.
When you approach another camp, take the slight left path further up rather than going into the cave on the right. Avoid the cave up here, too. Just keep going right and up the mountain.
You’ll need to use the Glider to jump over a gap. Keep going and you’ll approach another clearing with ladders on either side. The left leads to another camp. Head there and grab the Pickaxe from the crate by the second tent.
Upgrade to the Beginner’s Oxygen Tank nearby. This has more oxygen than the Basic Oxygen Tank, letting you climb for longer without needing a Refill Station.
Head out of the village the way you came. At the clearing, take the right path. Climb the rocks toward the cliff and use your glider to cross the gorge. It’s important that you stick to the path from now on.
Follow the roped fences. It’s a very long walk but you should make it to the next camp with around half of the Beginner’s Oxygen Tank remaining. You may need to user the glider again just to climb up the final cliff.
The temperature meter only affects your vision slightly. it will be near the bottom by the time you reach the camp. Don’t worry about it.
Grab the Intermediate Oxygen Tank by the Summit Rod nearby and continue the climb. Take the ladders to the right to find an NPC selling the Winter Cloak for 7,500C$. Grab this if you want to ignore the temperature meter entirely.
Head back out the way you came, this time taking the ramp further up the mountain. This path takes you through the Cryogenic Canal and Glacial Grotto zones. Hug the walls to avoid the avalanche knocking you down at the first set of ladders.
You’ll soon come across a larger camp, where you’ll find the Advanced Oxygen Tank for sale, and upgraded glider, and another Winter Cloak.
Refill tanks and even an Innkeeper were added in a patch a few hours after launch.
As this is the summit of the mountain, you can head to the back of the peak to find the main point of the Heaven’s Rod puzzle.
How to get the Heaven’s Rod
We’ve detailed the lengthy process of unlocking the Heaven’s Rod in a dedicated guide.
Before jumping in, know that you’ll need at least 2,000,000C$ to grab it.
How to get the Crystalized Rod
If you’re not quite at the point to unlock the Mythical Rod, the Crystalized Rod is a great grab at only 35,000C$. You’ll need a rope in a friend or passing stranger to unlock it, but that’s about it.
You can read how to unlock the Crystalize Rod to secure this great early-game rod in no time.
How to melt the levers in the Fisch Northern Expedition
Gaining access to the 6 levers in the Northern Expedition area requires melting the ice that encases them.
To do this, stand by them with a Lantern in your hand.
Lanterns are sometimes code rewards and can be equipped via the Equipment Bag in a section by the Bait and Bobber buttons.
If you don’t already have one, the best advice so far is to hang around Moosewood. A lantern vendor can sometimes appear. The Fischmas Calendar also offers them. We’ll add the lever locations soon.
Still have other Bestiary entries to complete? Check out the Fisch Winter Update guide to see what you’re missing. And consider unlocking the Rod of the Depths if you haven’t already. Paired with the Wormhole enchant, it’s one of the best tools for the job.
