How to get the Crystalized Rod in Fisch
It’s a great rod for early game progression
Can’t figure out how to get the Crystalized Rod out of the ice in Fisch Northern Expedition area? Here’s what to do.
Found as you approach the summit of the lofty mountain, the encased rod isn’t going to best your Trident Rod or Rod of the Depths. Instead, it’s a great alternative to early-game rods that can be grabbed with a smidge of luck and a friend or passing stranger.
How to get the Crystalized Rod in Fisch
As you climb up the Northern Summit, you’re sure to come across a rod frozen on an altar with two platforms nearby. It’ll be on your right as you continue the climb after the third camp.
This is the Crystallized Rod. The pickaxe isn’t enough to break it out, and you can’t melt the ice with a lantern, either. So how do you unlock it?
How to melt the Crystalized Rod ice
To release the Crystalized Rod, you need two players. Each one needs to stand on either of the empty platforms with a Glass Diamond in their hand.
We managed to fish up a couple Glass Diamonds very quickly in the Overgrowth Cave near the base of the mountain. It’s the one above the first cave you’ll come across. You can trade them to another player if they struggle to get their own.
Stand on the platforms long enough and a beam of light will melt the rod’s frozen prison.
Is the Crystalized Rod worth it?
It’ll set you back 35,000C$ and comes with the following stats,:
- Lure Speed: 35%
- Luck: 45%
- Control: 0.15%
- Resilience: 15%
- Max Kg: 25,000
The key value of the Crystalized Rod is its ability to occasionally mutate catches with the Crystalized mutation, making it one of the cheapest rods to have this sort of passive effect.
The Crystalized mutation increases the sale value of a fish by 1.75%. Paired with decent Luck and Lure Speed, it’s an inexpensive rod that can catapult your earnings early on.
