As you can probably expect, this guide contains full and extensive spoilers for the ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2, as well as a full explanation of what happens in the post-game. Spoilers. Last warning. Full spoilers for the ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to get the true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2
You can unlock the true ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be reached at the conclusion of the the Legacy quest. This quest is part of the main quest line and is unavoidable.
WARNING. Embarking on the end of the game will fail the majority of the game’s side quests.
We highly recommend doing everything you can, and visiting all of the game’s major areas before starting Legacy. This will also impact the post-game of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Once you’re ready, start the quest and follow it as normal. Eventually, you’ll come face to face with the Dragon. At this point, the Dragon will be holding the character for whom you have the most affinity. This largely means who you’ve done the largest number of quests for. This is most often Captain Brant, purely based on how many main quests he gives you.
At this point, you have options.
How to get the Bad Ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2
In order to get the bad ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2, when the dragon is holding the other character, simply walk away. This will give you the bad ending of the game, wherein your character ascends to the throne, but is miserable.
After this ending, if you reload the game, you’ll start again just before the Dragon encounter.
How to get the Normal Ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2
If you kill the Dragon in the traditional way, you’ll get the game’s normal ending. This ending sees the player on the throne, surrounded by his people. As you move towards the throne, you’ll see the Pathfinder in the hall. He’ll tell you that you’ve failed and you should regret your actions.
If you choose to try again, you’ll start again on top of the Dragon, which will give you a chance to get the game’s true ending once again.
How to get the True Ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2
In order to get the True Ending of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re going to have to kill the Dragon before you ever reach the final battle.
In order to do this, you have to climb round to the Dragon’s heart and use the Godsbane. In order to do this, open the inventory, select the Godsbane, and select “Use on Self.”
This will cause both you and the Dragon to plunge into the sea, and begin the game’s true ending.
And that’s it, you’re now ready to play the game’s True Ending, which is far more than you might expect. You may also now notice that the game’s main menu finally says “Dragon’s Dogma 2.”
