Disney Dreamlight Valley – How to add multiple homes

How do you get multiple houses in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Until recently this wasn’t possible – you had the single home you got at the start of the game and that was all.

This wasn’t a major deal – after all, Animal Crossing only ever gives players one house. Even so, the large map in Dreamlight Valley means some players like the idea of having a house in each area.

This has finally become possible in the June 2023 update, with players now able to place multiple homes throughout the Valley.

This guide will tell you how to place multiple homes in Dreamlight Valley.

The first thing to bear in mind is that the default house styles you get in the game can’t be placed elsewhere, even though there are a few of them.

This means you cannot add a second house which uses any of these styles:

  • White Gablefront House
  • Blue Gablefront House
  • Purple Gablefront House
  • Orange Gablefront House
  • Yellow Gablefront House

Instead, the only houses you can place are premium houses which can be bought with Moonstones in the game’s Shop screen.

You can only place premium houses bought in the game’s Shop section

This also means that if you only have one premium house and you’re currently using it as your main one, you’ll need to swap it back to one of the standard Gablefront Houses because you still won’t be able to make them your second home.

Once you’re ready, head to where you want to place your new home and bring up the Furniture screen, as if you were going to place a piece of furniture.

There you’ll find a category called House. Choose this and you’ll see all your spare premium houses listed (so if your main one is a premium house, you won’t see it here).

Once you choose the house you want, you can place it wherever you like and it’ll be added to the game.

Your second home will be completely empty, except for a teleporting chest

This is a completely separate house from your main one, so when you enter it you’ll find it completely empty with the basic floor and walls.

The only thing you’ll find there is a chest, which links to the main chest in your main house, meaning you can store items there and access them quicker in a different biome instead of having to teleport back to your main home each time.
