Disney Dreamlight Valley guide: How to find the Fishing Rod
Here’s where to locate the Fishing Rod at the start of Gameloft’s Disney RPG
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s fishing rod location is one of the first potentially confusing things in Gameloft’s new Disney game.
One of the game’s first quests asks you to find four items – the watering can, the shovel, the royal pickaxe and the fishing rod.
Most of these are easy enough to find, but the fishing rod can be a little trickier because it requires extra work.
This short guide, then, will tell you exactly how to find the fishing rod in Dreamlight Valley.

The fishing road can be found in the Peaceful Meadow, which is located south of the Plaza on your map.
Before you can reach it, you may have to find the royal pickaxe, which is found in the Plaza – it’s glowing and it’s stuck in a big stone, but when you approach it, it’ll come loose and you’ll collect it.
With the pickaxe, you can now break the giant rocks that are blocking the stairway to the Peaceful Meadow.
Once you do this, you’ll find the fishing rod lying next to a pond.
The problem is, it’s broken, which means the quest won’t be ticked off when you pick it up.
The game tells you to find someone who can help you fix it, but while the quest’s icon makes it clear that this is supposed to be Goofy, you might not be able to find him (even if you can sometimes hear him).
That’s because Goofy is actually inside his house, which is also Peaceful Meadow. Here’s what it looks like:
When you enter this house, you’ll find Goofy there, and he’ll not only fix the rod for you, he’ll give you it to keep and also hand you a fishing hat.
This completes the quest, meaning you can finally talk to Merlin (if you have the other tools) and continue your adventure.
