Disney Dreamlight Valley golden potato: How to get it and what does it do?
Find out the code to redeem the mysterious golden potato item
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s golden potato has got the game’s community a little puzzled.
Ever since the game’s developer started dropping hints about the golden potato, fans have been wondering what it all means.
How do you get the golden potato, and what do you do with it once you get it?
We can answer at least some of this in our guide below.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: What is the golden potato?
The hunt for the golden potato started off in the game’s official Discord server, where the developers kicked off a scavenger hunt.
Part of this included a manipulated version of a screenshot which had been shared on the game’s social media pages, which showed a range of Halloween furniture.
Hidden on the bench on one of these images was some leettering. By zooming in and adjusting the image with PhotoShop, some players found a hidden code.
This code can be entered in the game for the mysterious golden potato, an item that’s confusing Dreamlight Valley fans.

Since all the hard work’s been done for you already, the code’s already been discovered.
To redeem it, then, all you have to do is pause your game and go to the Settings tab on the pause screen.
This shows a panel where you can enter a code. Choose this and enter the following code:
GPOT-OATO-LDFS-ENNM
You have to enter it exactly as you see it above, in all caps and with hyphens too.
Once you do this, hit the Claim button and you should get a message saying it’s been claimed. If you get an error, try again.
Once you’re done, head to the mailbox outside your house and you should find your golden potato waiting for you.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: What does the golden potato do?
Once you’ve got your golden potato, you’ll no doubt be wondering what to do with it.
At the moment, nobody really knows, but we can at least tell you what you can’t do with it. You can’t eat it, you can’t cook with it, you can’t craft with it and you can’t even drop it.
We have the feeling that the fact you can’t drop it means that whatever it’s used for is coming soon.
The game’s second major update is planned for December 6, so it might arrive as part of that.
Alternatively, the game’s Twitter account has been teasing some sort of mysterious event involving a rocket that’s due to take place on November 30, so that may have something to do with it too.
