How to respec in Black Myth Wukong
Sparks can be hard to come across, but respeccing Wukong is a touch easier
Knowing how to respec in Black Myth Wukong could save you hours otherwise spent slamming your head against a boss that won’t go down.
Being an action RPG, Black Myth Wukong allows you to build your character any which way you want. That means carefully spending finite points to unlock and upgrade new attacks and abilities. Relying on those you enjoy the most is fine, but bosses can be more efficiently countered by playing into their weaknesses, giving reason to respec your Wukong build to favour certain techniques.
How do you respec in Black Myth Wukong?
Whether it’s because you put a point in the wrong slot or want to try a whole new build for a problematic boss, you can respec in Black Myth Wukong by visiting any one of the shrines common after big boss fights and between new areas. Offer incense to activate one, interact with it, and hold Y/Triangle to reclaim your points.
You can refund every skill point at a shrine in an instant to try whole new builds or pull points one-by-one to fix little mistakes, quickly power up a preferred ability, or to refund a skill point you think it’s better spent elsewhere.
How do I get more skill points in Black Myth Wukong?
Black Myth Wukong skill points come from collectibles known as Sparks. You gain a Spark at Spark Meditation Pillows scattered throughout the game. For instance, you can find a Spark Meditation Pillow outside the Forest of Wolves. Head down the stairs and through the nearby cave to spot a pillow in the little hut.
There’s another Spark Meditation Pillow down a sneakily hidden path shortly after the Lingxuzi fight.
Simply put, without carefully following a list of Black Myth Wukong spark locations, you’ll likely miss a handful of free skill points in your playthrough. Likewise, Health, Mana, and Stamina upgrades can be found by pursuing collectables commonly hidden throughout the game that’s seeing record numbers on Steam at launch.
What are the best skills in Black Myth Wukong?
While it’s a little too early into release to say which skills are worth maxing out, or even which Wukong build can dominate the game, it’s safe to suggest that unlocking the Pillar and Thrust Stances will give you the flexibility to tackle almost any enemy you face.
Each stance changes your heavy attack. The Pillar Stance blow has good area damage, which is great for dealing with groups of enemies. It even has a light knockback, giving you a way to knock pesky targets off high ledges and cliffs. The Thrust Stance, on the other hand, has serious range, making it great for dealing damage from a distance.
