We’ve scoured the trailer for jokes and other points of interest

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

The GTA 6 trailer has been posted early, following an online leak. And despite only being a minute and a half long, there’s still a lot of stuff to take in here.

That includes glimpses of the typical Easter Eggs and other jokes spotted in every Grand Theft Auto game and company and business names that appear to be new to the series.

Some of these are funny, some are callbacks to previous games, and some are simply interesting because they may give clues as to what may feature in the final game.

We’ve put together this list of the best points of interest we’ve seen so far, and will continue to update it as we spot more.

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs

Patriot Beer

Patriot Beer returns from GTA 4 and GTA 5, but it appears to have had a makeover. It’s always been believed that the beer was based on Samuel Adams, and the new logo looks suspiciously similar to the word ‘American’ in that beer’s ‘Brewing the American Dream’ slogan.

Nine 1 Nine

There’s a plane flying past at one point for a company called Nine 1 Nine Vice City, along with the slogan “why sixty-nine when you can Nine 1 Nine”.

It’s not clear yet what this is. Could it be a nightclub? A dating site? A fashion brand? Time will tell.

Sol Sisters

Over on Vice Beach, the parasols appear to be provided by a company called Sol Sisters, a play on the phrase ‘soul sisters’.

Cheetah

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

The Cheetah, a popular GTA car that’s appeared in every main game since GTA 3, is back again.

In GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, the Cheetah looked like a Ferrari Testarossa. Then in GTA 4 and GTA 5 it looked more like a Ferrari Enzo.

This time, however, it appears to have gone back to a more Testarossa-inspired look.

Dolls of Destruction

This chap at the nightclub is wearing a t-shirt for a band called Dolls of Destruction.

This band doesn’t exist in real life and doesn’t appear to have been in any previous GTA game, so could this be a new fictional band similar to Love Fist?

Sessanta Nove

The premium fashion brand Sessanta Nove has returned, with its trademark SN logo, a clear rip-off of the Louis Vuitton logo.

If you missed the joke the first time Sessanta Nove appeared in GTA 5, it’s Italian for ‘sixty-nine’.

Poach

Among the various social media videos shown during one montage, there’s a chap struggling with an alligator and a warning message from a company called Poach.

This stands for Protection of Animals and Controlled Hunting – could this organisation feature in the game? Could there even be side-missions where you work for (or against) Poach?

Go Postal

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

As in GTA 5, the post office is called Go Postal, which is a slang term for going crazy (and usually going on a rampage of some sort).

Don’t worry, though, because the subtitle is ‘Collect Yourself’, a reference to both picking up parcels from the shop, and calming down.

Leonida

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

We all know that GTA 6 is set in Vice City, but Rockstar has now confirmed that the state is called Leonida. Since Vice City is based on Miami, Leonida is clearly supposed to represent Florida.

Incidentally, if you don’t get the name, it’s a reference to Juan Ponce de León, a Spanish explorer who led the first European expedition to Florida in 1513.

In real life, Florida often gets a reputation for having crazy people, which explains the social media montage showing this clip from ‘PlanetLeonidaMan’…

Only in Florida

…and this clip from someone saying “only in Leonida”, an apparent reference to “only in Florida”.

Incidentally, for what it’s worth, this pleasant chap is wearing a shirt that says “We bite back in Leonida”.

Rideout Customs

This car has stickers for Vice Vinyl and Rideout Customs.

Could these be the names of the businesses you visit in GTA 6 to customise your vehicle? We’d put our Shark Cash on it.

Drug satire

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

In a rather depressing joke, there’s an ad for a pill called Angstipan (an apparent parody of angina medicine Angispan), saying it “cures emotions”.

The disclaimer at the bottom says: “Patients 18-65 should use with extreme caution. Sudden urge to blink could be life-threatening.”

Then, rather concerningly: “Call your doctor if your erection lasts more than 4 hours. Results may vary.”

United States of Paranoia

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

When Lucia is shown holding cash while sitting in the car, the money doesn’t say “The United States of America”, it says “The United States of Paranoia”.

The money on the note also says 04101998. We might be reading too much into this but April 10, 1998 was when the Good Friday Agreement was signed. Were these notes made by an Irish developer?

Weazel News

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

The news is presented by Weazel News, which – as in previous games – is something of a patriotic news channel given the stripes on its logo.

This is presumably a reference to Fox News – which is known to be rather right-leaning – albeit with the animal changed to something Rockstar seemingly thinks is more appropriate.

Confession in ink

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

The headline on this Spanish language news channel tells the story of a Leonidan criminal whose distinctive appearance got him convicted.

It reads: “Confession written in ink (for tattoos) – A tattoo on the neck that gave himself away, key to the conviction of a Leonida man”.

It appears to be another example of people in Leonida being a little less sensible than those in the rest of the country, and is seemingly a reference to the real-life ‘Florida Joker’.

Pisswasser

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

It wouldn’t be a Grand Theft Auto game without Piswasser (a play on ‘piss water’, if you’ve still missed the joke).

But what do you do if you’re tee-total and can’t drink beer? Presenting Piswasser Nein, which is presumably the new alcohol-free version.

Logger Beer

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

For those who like their beer more no-frills, Logger Beer makes its return here too.

In previous games in the series, Logger Beer is generally considered the lower quality ‘redneck’ beer.

Uncle Jacks

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

Near the end of the trailer our protagonists enter a liquor store called Uncle Jacks, which has this ad for a new Spanish beer called Pindayho.

This is almost certainly a reference to ‘pendejo’, a Spanish swear word meaning “asshole” or “idiot”.

Logger Light

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

If you like your low-alcohol beers but Piswasser Nein is a bit too rich for your tastes, Logger Beer now has its own ‘Light’ version.

It’s called Logger Light Dreich, a name that should bring joy to any Scots worried that Rockstar wouldn’t add any more Scottish in-jokes to GTA 6.

‘Dreich’ is a Scottish word meaning dull, gloomy and bleak, so it’s clear that drinking a Light version of an already watered-down, low-quality beer isn’t a great experience.

And the 99-cent cans of ‘Dignity’ being advertised probably aren’t much better.

No underwear cash

GTA 6 trailer Easter Eggs – Here’s everything we’ve found so far

Finally, it appears that Uncle Jacks isn’t the sort of liquor store that attracts the classiest clientele.

This sign on the door says: “We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear.” And we don’t think they mean Sessanta Nove underwear.
