‘Less interesting in every conceivable way’ – Hellblade 2 Review Roundtable
This is a blog post, where VGC writers post irreverent and (occasionally) entertaining coverage of video game culture.

Hellblade 2 reviews have been published, releasing at the same time the game is due to be added to Xbox Game Pass.

Before the reviews went live, VGC’s Jordan Middler sat down with Tamoor Hussain of GameSpot, Stacey Henley of TheGamer, and Jon Clarke of XboxEra to discuss Ninja Theory‘s latest.

We chat about the game’s mechanics, narrative as well as what we think are the game’s strengths and weaknesses.

This review discussion contains no spoilers.

The audio version of this discussion is also available on the VGC: The Video Game Podcast feed, which you can access wherever you get your podcasts.

VGC’s Hellblade 2 review called it “a mechanically dated game carried along by its incredible presentational flair.”

“For a game shown alongside the debut of Series X, it’s not reflective of the story Xbox is trying to tell with its first party. As a result, it’s disappointing.”
