Check out 30 minutes of Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered discussion

In a bonus VGC podcast, Jordan Middler and VG247’s Alex Donaldson chat about their hands-on preview impressions.
In the podcast, which can be viewed above as a video or for listening on the usual VGC Podcast feed, he pair discuss the game’s opening few hours, as well as what has changed since the original, and the subsequent releases.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will be released on September 19. The remaster will use the RE Engine and will include quality-of-life improvements such as auto-saving, revamped controls and improved UI.
VGC recently went hands-on with the zombie slash-em-up. Our written preview said: “So far, Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered feels like that oft-talked about ‘definitive’ version of a game.
“This isn’t inspired by the 2006 game, or a remake in the style of it – it’s largely the exact same game under the hood.”
Alongside changes to the game’s ‘erotica’ photo scoring system, another element from the original game that won’t be present is Frank’s original voice, which was provided by voice actor Terence J Rotolo.
Rotolo confirmed last month that he wasn’t asked to reprise the role of Frank for the remaster, saying: “An actor’s job when called upon is to show up prepared, deliver your best, and when done move onto the next mission. I simply wasn’t called for this mission. The reasons are the producers’ own.”
